Hi! My name is Tim Miltenberger. I'm a 5th degree black belt and head
instructor, here, at Marshalltown's Christian ATA. You might want to know a
little bit about me, so here goes...
I started Martial Arts in 1987 with Master Larry Edel in Ames, Iowa. We studied, at
that time, in the basement of a Methodist Church just across the street from Friley hall.
My family wasn't sure whether my major was Electrical
Engineering or Taekwondo. In the end I stuck
with Taekwondo and received my Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering as
well.
In 1993 and 1994 I traveled and received certifications in Knife Defense, Single
and Double stick, Joint Manipulation and Throwing, and SHARP (Sexual Harassment,
Assault, and Rape Prevention). In the 1994-1995 Tournament year I competed and
earned the title of 1995 Men's Third Degree World Champion.
Since then I have tested for my Fourth and Fifth Degree, Certified in Middle Range Long
Staff, Tai Chi Levels 1, 2, 3, and 4, opened this Taekwondo Club, earned 2004
and 2005 State Champion in sparring, and in 2006 I earned State Champion in
weapons. Most importantly
in my life, however, is that I married Pamela on October 6th, 2001. Her support
and encouragement have definitely spurred me
on in my training and this adventure which is Marshalltown's Christian ATA.
